What is Spacement Records?
Spacement Records is a collectively owned, run, and operated DIY record label based in Reno, NV. We support the local, regional, national, and international DIY HC punk community by releasing music by passionate innovative songwriters who care about music and people before profit and popularity. We are dedicated to supporting bands who are anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-homophobic. We support bands that play all ages shows and are active in their local scenes.

Will you release my bands record?
Since Spacement is a collectively run label, we take input from many members of the Spacement community before we decide to put a record out. The best way to do a record on Spacement is to come to Reno and play and make some friends. Since Spacement is a collective, the bands doing the record are mostly responsible for the financial aspect of putting out the recording. We are not the typical label as in we do not fully pay for your release and give you a certain percentage of the records.

How can my band play at the Spacement?
Get a hold of someone who books shows in Reno. Some members of the Spacement community book a ton of shows here while other do not do shows.

Why vinyl?
Vinyl records are an art form. Vinyl means more than a CDR or an MP3. Vinyl records are important for the continuation of a legacy of punk music and art.

Why all ages?
It saddens me to really have to answer this. Playing 21+ or 18+ shows is NOT punk. Playing an age-restricted show is the same as playing a show that would restrict any segment of the populace. Would you play a show where women were not allowed? Would you play a show where Blacks were not allowed? Then why would you play a show where those who have not yet reached 18 or 21 years of age were not allowed? Plus, when you play a bar, the crowd is not there to see you. They are there to get wasted and you are the side act. Fuck that.

What do I need to view the Spacement Records website correctly?
We recommend you use the latest version of the Firefox browser (Internet Explorer sucks). The website should work fine in both the 1024x768 and 800x600 screen resolutions.

How do I listen to the MP3s?
Right click the MP3 link and select "Save Link As" / "Save Target As" (depends on what browser you are using). Then choose where to save the MP3 file on your computer and click "Save". You should then be able to find it on your computer where you saved it and you can play the MP3 files in any sort of media player.
